Targets

A 19 year old French, Eric Grauffel, was classified Champion of Europe all

categories in Shooting IPSC. To arrive at this level, a sporting drive of

very high level is necessary as well as an expensive and sophisticated material.

Competition is keen in a discipline disputed by 65 countries in

the world, including 25 in Europe, and its hope is to tear off in the USA them

supremacy in this field. The IPSC is with the shooting what formula 1 is with

the car.

However this discipline is threatened in France, it is compared to

a paramilitary drive and even qualified of street battle. And

however, in the current state of the things, the FFT cannot organize any more

Championships in France, nor to send a French delegation officially

with the Championships of the world, by decision of the Minister for the youth and of

Sports.

Thus Eric Grauffel could find Champion of the world without having there

possibility of being Champion of France like the previous years.

The practise of the shooting of the IPSC constitute a threat for the law and order,

in spite of the essential virgin rack and many controls

administrative auquels is subjected all the gunners. Ouf! good people

will not be any more threatened by the bands of gunners IPSC which rôdent the night in

the suburbs and attack the police stations with their guns of

competition. And the French political tradition will be respected: to tremble

in front of imaginary threats by neglecting the real dangers, all in

taking the citizens for imbeciles!
